Minutes from 6/19 meeting

The minutes from the June 19 meeting can be found by clicking here.

  1. The local governments request that people plug in their vehicles (+20) so that the air quality is not adversely effected. Yet on the UAF campus dozens of vehicles can not be plugged in due to lack of electrical connections (across the street from the Patty Center) and many of these vehicles are left running.

If UAF is concerned about the environment and the carbon footprint, seems this issue should be addressed by the Parking Committee rather than if a bicycle is abandoned.

  2. Rather use smaller buses more frequently than big buses less frequently. If I have to go to a meeting on the other end of campus and need to take an early bus that gets me to my destination 40 minutes before the meeting then I'll sure use my car. The frequency has to be so high that it will take me longer to drive myself, look for a space and walk to my destination.

  3. Thanks for taking comments and allowing time for public comment at your meetings. I think it would be a great morale booster for staff to allow them to park in the Gold Lots during the summer months. They lie almost empty all summer and I've heard many staff comment that they would love to park closer to their workplace and it gets them down to walk by the virtually empty gold lots when faculty are off contract.
